‘Excellent Business’ ‘Scary Days Ahead’ Fans React As Romano Confirms Chelsea Deal Is “Done”

Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has completed his move to Chelsea, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Writing on his X account, Romano said the 25-year-old has “done” his medical and signed his contract ahead of the Β£30m transfer:

Supporters are happy that Dewsbury-Hall will be plying his trade at Stamford Bridge next season and they are hoping that he turns out to be a good signing:

Maresca gets his man

Although the Blues were said to be tracking Dewsbury-Hall prior to Enzo Maresca’s arrival at the club, it can’t be a coincidence that they pushed forward with the deal once the Italian had been appointed.

The midfielder was an integral part of Leicester’s Championship winning team last season under Maresca’s management. He doesn’t lack Premier League experience, though, having made 59 appearances for the Foxes prior to their relegation in 2023.

Who will Chelsea target next?

It is believed that the London club are still actively pursuing a striker. There were reports that they had made enquiries about Newcastle’s Alexander Isak but the Swede’s Β£125m price tag is well beyond their reach. A cheaper alternative is likely to be considered.

Romano has also revealed that the Blues want a left-sided centre-back, with Bologna’s Riccardo Calafiori one of those on their shortlist.
