Chelsea “Still Pushing” To Sign Manchester United Star But Transfer Could Hinge On Arsenal Decision

Chelsea remain interested in securing the services of Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho, according to RMC Sport reporter Fabrice Hawkins.

The journalist, who is usually reliable when it comes to transfers, claims that the Blues are “still pushing” to sell Raheem Sterling so they can “afford” to bring in Sancho ahead of the deadline tonight.

Arsenal are believed to be favourites to land Sterling, with the Gunners currently discussing internally whether to make an offer to Chelsea for the player.

If the 29-year-old does end up moving to the Emirates in the coming hours, it would open the door for Sancho to be brought in.

Are Juventus still a threat to Chelsea?

Reports over the past week have suggested that Juve have been pressing to sign Sancho on loan and Hawkins says that a deal is still “possible” with discussions over salary taking place.

However, other journalists, such as Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, have suggested that the Serie A side have backed out of the move due to finances.

United are keen for Sancho to leave Old Trafford on a permanent basis so, if Juventus wanted to loan the 24-year-old, they would have needed to include an option to buy.

Sancho may not be the only arrival on deadline day

Chelsea are still in negotiations with the agents of Victor Osimhen. The Blues have made it clear to Napoli that they are prepared to loan the Nigerian international with a mandatory purchase clause.

However, Osimhen is not willing to take a pay cut in order to move to London. He already has a lucrative offer on the table from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli. If a move for Osimhen collapses, Enzo Maresca’s side may look to pursue an alternative.
