Jadon Sancho’s recent form for Chelsea has led fans to express their delight that he will seal a move to Stamford Bridge next summer.

The 24-year-old is ostensibly on loan from Manchester United but an obligation of buy means the Blues will pay between £20m and £25m for the switch to become permanent at the end of the season. After scoring an excellent goal in the 4-3 win over Tottenham at the weekend, supporters on X feel the fee that Chelsea will shell out is more than worth it:

The decision to sign Sancho was low-risk

After his less-than-stellar performances out on loan at Borussia Dortmund last season, many regarded the England international as a busted flush.

It meant few were willing to gamble on signing Sancho in the summer despite United clearly being keen on letting him go.

Chelsea opted to go in late with a bid for the winger and they got a deal that means they would have to pay relatively little if the move goes wrong. At the moment, the gamble appears to have paid off.

Maresca is getting the most out of the Chelsea forward

Sancho’s attitude has often been questioned since he moved back to England in 2021 but he seems to be thriving under Maresca.

The Italian’s man management is pretty no-nonsense, going by his recent comments about Noni Madueke, but it appears Sancho is happy with his manager’s approach.
