1) Subiabre has football in his blood
The forward is the son of a former footballer Martin Subiabre who played in Argentina’s lower leagues.
Ian initially joined his local El Globito at the age of just 4 before he linked up with his father’s former team CAI three years later.
His talent was recognised at a young age, with River Plate having given him a trial at the age of 8 but he remained with CAI for another 7 years.
The long travel times to Buenos Aires meant that Subiabre didn’t join River Plate’s academy until the start of 2022.
