Romano Says Chelsea Are “Following” £55M Rated Striker Amid Claims That United Have Opened Talks To Sign Him

Chelsea remain interested in signing Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist claims the Blues are “following” the Danish international, with the London club and Manchester United having scouted the player this season:

“Chelsea and Manchester United have sent their scouts to follow Rasmus Hojlund recently. So Chelsea know the player very well and are following the player.”

Earlier this week, it was reported that United had opened talks to sign Hojlund. The 20-year-old is believed to be a key target for manager Erik ten Hag.

Whether Chelsea will attempt to muscle in on negotiations, we shall have to wait and see. Atalanta are said to have slapped a £55m asking price on the forward so a lot will depend on which club is prepared to meet the valuation.

Chelsea have been linked with a number of strikers

Recruiting a new number nine will be a priority for new Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino, with the team having struggled for goals this season.

The likes of Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Juventus’s Dusan Vlahovic, Montpellier’s Elye Wahi and even Tottenham’s Harry Kane have been linked, but Hojlund is also seemingly under consideration.
