£51M Price Tag Set As Journalist Reveals Chelsea Are Due To Hold “Another Meeting” With Possible Sanchez Replacement

Chelsea are expected to hold “another meeting” with Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel ahead of a potential summer transfer, according to Bild reporter Christian Falk.

Writing in his Daily Briefing column, Falk said that a move to the Premier League is a “possibility” although Dortmund are expected to fight tooth and nail to keep their number one.

The Bundesliga side have set a €60m (£51m) asking price, but that valuation may still come down if they don’t qualify for the Champions League. With two games to go, Dortmund are currently three points below the final qualification spot so a lot could still happen over the coming weeks.

Chelsea are not the only English team interested in the keeper

Reports in the French media last week claimed that the Blues were one of two Premier League clubs set to have a meeting with Kobel‘s agent.

Newcastle are also said to be in the mix for the Swiss international’s signature, with the Magpies seeking a long-term replacement for Nick Pope.

Kobel is just one of two Dortmund players who are being targeted

Enzo Maresca’s side are also believed to be interested in snapping up Jamie Gittens from the German club.

The England Under 21 international is thought to have the exact same price tag as Kobel but there are suggestions that he could be included as part of a potential swap deal.

Carney Chukwuemeka is currently on loan at Dortmund and they would like to keep the midfielder. For that reason, including him in any offer for Gittens could well tempt them into offloading the winger.

Such a proposal could also give them an advantage over rival clubs, such as Liverpool and Manchester United, who are interested in the 20-year-old.
