RANKED: The 5 Chelsea Players Most Likely To Leave The Club This Summer

With Chelsea having had a very difficult season up until now, it looks likely that there will be more turnover in the first-team squad this summer.

It won’t be a case of ripping things up and starting again but there will be some notable departures.

In the list we have compiled, we have included some high-profile names whose days at the club could be numbered.

Press the next page as we rank who is likeliest to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

5) Noni Madueke

The winger has seemingly failed to convince manager Mauricio Pochettino during his first full season at Stamford Bridge.

After being one of the few bright lights in the second half of last campaign following his arrival from PSV Eindhoven, Madueke has failed to kick on.

The 22-year-old has only managed four starts in the Premier League, and he hasn’t even made it off the bench in the last three league fixtures.

If Pochettino leaves the Blues, Madueke may get a fresh start under his successor but there is a good chance he won’t be at the London club beyond the summer.

4) Raheem Sterling

The 29-year-old’s deteriorating relationship with Chelsea fans means his potential exit is more likely than it was last year.

It is believed that Sterling did receive offers from Saudi Arabia before the start of the campaign but the former Manchester City player didn’t want to leave England.

Whether recent events will lead to a U-Turn on that decision, we shall have to wait and see.

Sterling will need to improve on his most recent performances if he is to stand any chance of turning his Blues career around.

3) Trevoh Chalobah

The defender’s future may not be determined by the player or even the manager.

Pochettino is clearly a fan of Chalobah as, since he returned from a serious hamstring injury, the 24-year-old has featured regularly in the starting lineup.

In fact, the Chelsea boss has even favoured the centre-back ahead of veteran Thiago Silva, which has raised a few eyebrows.

However, due to financial pressures of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules, Chelsea are said to be keen on selling him. He is a homegrown player and he would go down as pure profit on the balance sheet.

2) Conor Gallagher

The midfielder is in a slightly different situation to Chalobah as his future will be decided on whether he signs a new contract.

Gallagher will have a year remaining on his current deal at the end of the season and, if he doesn’t put pen to paper on an extension, Chelsea will want to offload him this summer to prevent him from leaving on a free transfer next year.

As a homegrown player, though, he would also help the Blues’ balance sheet if he is sold. There is a good market for the player with other Premier League teams keen on taking him.

Tottenham are believed to be the club leading the race for Gallagher’s signature at this moment in time.

1) Thiago Silva

Trusted journalist David Ornstein has already stated that there is little to no chance of the 39-year-old signing another contract extension.

Silva looks destined to leave Stamford Bridge after four years, with a return to Brazil the most likely scenario.

The defender has always said that he would like to play for his first club Fluminense again before he hangs up his boots.

Based on everything we know, Silva is now just a few months away from ending his time in London.
