Fabrizio Romano: Chelsea Say YES To £50m PL Star, And NO To Ballon d’Or Nominee

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has said that Chelsea have said yes to signing Alejandro Garnacho, and no to signing Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The Blues are still looking to add more talent this summer, despite managing to strengthen in attack with the likes of Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens. They sold Noni Madueke to Arsenal, and so would like to bring in a winger to replace him.

Furthermore, the future of goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has been uncertain all summer long, after a season full of mistakes last year. Rumours initially said that Chelsea wanted to sign AC Milan keeper Mike Maignan, but it now seems they have a different target.

Romano says Chelsea say YES to Garnacho

Firstly, Man United winger Alejandro Garnacho is a target for the Blues this summer, and reports have said that the 20-year-old wants to come to Stamford Bridge this summer, as he is set to leave Man United.

It has been said that Garnacho will cost around £50m, and the Blues are in talks to secure the Argentine international. However, it seems as though the Blues have made a decision, and are going to step up their efforts to land the winger.

Fabrizio Romano told his YouTube channel: “Garnacho is getting closer and closer to becoming a Chelsea player. Chelsea and Manchester United are now actively in talks to reach an agreement for Alejandro Garnacho.” – So it seems a matter of time until the Blues secure their Madueke replacement.

The Blues say NO to Gianluigi Donnarumma

Sanchez’s future in goal is under threat, as the Italian international is due to leave Paris Saint-Germain after the French club signed his replacement, Lucas Chevalier from Lille.

Chelsea and Man United have both been linked to signing the reigning Champions League winner, and current Ballon d’Or nominee, however, Romano has said that the Blues are happy with their current keepers, and have pulled out the race for Donnarumma.

He said: “Chelsea are not in active talks to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma. No talks, no negotiations, Chelsea are not working on this one, so forget about Donnarumma for Chelsea, from what I’ve been told.
