Chelsea have entered the race to sign Brighton striker Evan Ferguson, according to reports.
The Republic of Ireland international is expected to be loaned out or sold by the Seagulls before the transfer window closes next week and The Guardian claim the Blues are now in the mix for his signature. However, fans on X are not happy about the prospect of Ferguson, who has scored just 1 goal this campaign, making the switch to Stamford Bridge:

Ferguson does have plenty of suitors
Despite his injury history and disappointing recent scoring record, the 20-year-old is attracting a lot of interest. The likes of Arsenal, West Ham, Everton, Tottenham and Bournemouth have been linked with the player.
Many believe that Ferguson has plenty of untapped potential and it appears as though Chelsea are among the teams willing to take a gamble on him.
Chelsea could bring him in for six months
As mentioned, Brighton are said to be willing to loan the striker out and that could be a beneficial arrangement for the Blues as they look to provide competition for Nicolas Jackson.
If Ferguson doesn’t impress between now and the end of the season, he can always be sent back to the Amex. Including an option to buy, though, would still be prudent.
Brighton are said to value him at around £40m, which seems to be a reasonable figure to pay if he does produce the goods.
