Chelsea are weighing up whether to join the battle for Brighton’s Evan Ferguson, according to reports.
The Republic of Ireland international could be made available on loan this month and TBRFootball say that the Blues are one of several teams keen on securing the player’s services. Asked whether their club should make an approach for Ferguson, the majority of fans on X were very much against the idea:

Ferguson has had a difficult 18 months in front of goal
After making his breakthrough at Brighton during the 2022/23 season, when he scored 16 goals in all competitions, the Irishman has found life tough since then.
Ferguson has only found the back of the net 7 times since the start of last campaign, and he only scored once in 2024.
An ankle injury did curtail his minutes in the last couple of months of the 2023/24 season but it doesn’t really explain why he has not been able to reproduce the form he showed in 2022/23.
Chelsea are one of 6 Premier League clubs pursuing the striker
Despite Ferguson’s struggles, he is unlikely to be short of suitors if Brighton do offload him this month.
TBRFootball claim that, in addition to the Blues, the likes of Arsenal, West Ham, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Fulham are also monitoring the forward‘s situation.
