“Chelsea Also Informed” – Journalist Claims Blues Could Target German Keeper If Bid To Sign Jorgensen Fails

Chelsea are keeping tabs on Ajax goalkeeper Diant Ramaj, according to journalist Luca Bendoni.

The reporter works with Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, and speaking about Ramaj, he said that the Blues are being kept “informed” about his situation:

Ramaj only joined Ajax from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer but new head coach Francesco Farioli is expected to start the season with veteran keeper Remko Pasveer in goal.

What do Chelsea fans need to know about Ramaj?

The goalkeeper is a former German Under 20 international, having come through the youth ranks of Stuttgart, Stuttgart Kickers and Heidenheim.

Ramaj joined Frankfurt for a nominal fee in the summer of 2021 but, during his two seasons with the Bundesliga side, he only made two appearances. The first was his senior debut against FC Augsburg in January 2022, with his second game coming twelve months later versus Freiburg.

Ajax snapped up the 22-year-old for €5m in August 2023 and he went on to make 31 appearances for the Eredivisie club last campaign, conceding 51 times and keeping 5 clean sheets.

The Blues have made an official bid for Jorgensen

While Ramaj is on the London club’s radar, he isn’t their top target to strengthen their options in goal. It is believed that a bid worth €20m (£17m) has been tabled for Villarreal’s Filip Jorgensen.

At the time of writing, there has been no indication as to whether the proposal will be accepted. If you want to find out more about Jorgensen, you can read our career profile here.
