“There Is A Proposal” – Club Chief Confirms Offer Amid Claims That Chelsea Are In ‘Advanced’ Talks To Sign Brazilian

Corinthians president Augusto Melo has confirmed that the club have received a €15m (£12.5m) bid for Chelsea target Denner.

CNN Brasil reported on Monday that the Blues are in “advanced negotiations” to sign the 16-year-old and, speaking to Globo Esporte, Melo said an offer is on the table:

“There is a proposal, it is €8m, and then there is a value of €500,000 for a specific number of games. With the bonus, the contract could reach €15m.”

Melo also revealed that Corinthians have no option but to accept the bid, although the player will remain in Brazil until he is 18 in accordance with local employment law.

What do fans need to know about Denner?

He is a left-back by trade, having come through the ranks of Corinthians academy. Despite the sizeable fee that Chelsea are willing to pay, it must be pointed out that the player hasn’t even made his senior debut yet.

Denner has caught the eye whilst playing for his club’s Under 20s in the Copinha – a Brazilian youth tournament. He scored 3 goals and provided 1 assist in 8 appearances as Corinthians made it all the way to the final where they lost to Sao Paulo.

The fullback has also been capped by his country at Under 15 level, having also been called up by the Under 16s and Under 17s.

When will the player move to Chelsea if the transfer is finalised?

Denner will turn 18 in February 2026 so he will not even make the switch to Stamford Bridge until the start of the 2026/27 season. That’s a long way off.

Considering that young players from Brazil, such as Andrey Santos, have tended to be loaned out once they arrive in London too, it could be quite some time before we see the defender in a Blues shirt.
