Chelsea are poised to snap up Corinthians left-back Denner, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues are expected to pay €14m (£11.6m), including add-ons for the 17-year-old who has yet to make his senior debut.
Writing on his X account, Romano said that Denner’s contract will be “signed soon,” with the defender moving to Stamford Bridge next year.
The Brazilian youth international won’t join this summer as players need to be at least 18 years of age before making the switch to England.
Denner only turned 17 last week, so that means the earliest he can sign for Chelsea is the summer of 2026.
What do fans need to know about Denner?
The fullback has played for Corinthians in the Copinha (the Brazilian youth cup) and the Brazilian Under 20 Championships.
Chelsea were first linked with Denner back in January when Corinthians club president Augusto Melo said that the London club had tabled an official proposal:
“It is €8m, and then there is a value of €500,000 for a specific number of games. With the bonus, the contract could reach €15m.”
At the time, Corinthians reportedly turned down the offer as they wanted more money up front. Romano says that the Blues are expected to pay an initial €10m.
Chelsea have mixed results signing young Brazilian players
Over the past few years, the London club have signed the likes of Angelo Gabriel, Deivid Washington, Andrey Santos and Estevao Willian from teams in Brazil.
Angelo was offloaded to Saudi Arabia within a year of his arrival in London, while Washington has recently returned to Santos on loan.
However, Andrey Santos has caught the eye with his impressive performances at Strasbourg and he could come back to his parent club this summer to become part of the first-team setup. Estevao’s potential, meanwhile, is not in question.
