“I’m Focused” – Huijsen Issues Fresh Update On His Future Amid Claims That Chelsea Are Leading £50M Transfer Battle

Chelsea target Dean Huijsen insists he is not thinking about a transfer at the end of the season.

When asked about the £50m price tag on his head by Spanish newspaper AS after Bournemouth’s 2-1 win over Arsenal at the weekend, Huijsen replied:

“I don’t know… I’m a ‘chill’ guy, like I do when I celebrate [laughs]. I don’t think about it much. Every day I go to training, to play in the games, and I’m happy.”

“I’m having a good time and I’m not thinking about that. You are the ones to judge that; I’m not thinking about that, I’m focused on Bournemouth. We’re having a very good season.”

“We’ve already broken the points record and we want to get as many points as possible this season.”

Chelsea have been labelled as favourites to sign the defender

Several news outlets have now made the Blues the leading contenders to secure Huijsen‘s services this summer. It is believed that the club’s strong relationship with his agent could play an important role.

However, it must be emphasised that no agreement has been reached over a transfer yet. Both Arsenal and Liverpool are also said to be strong candidates for his signature.

Huijsen’s asking price has scared off some suitors

It had been reported that the 20-year-old would prioritise a move to Real Madrid if the La Liga giants were interested but AS claim that the Spanish side are “hesitant to take the plunge and sign him.”

Huijsen’s release clause is said to be too high for them, which has paved the way for the likes of Chelsea and other Premier League clubs to snap him up.

The centre-back may be at the centre of a fierce transfer battle but his own remarks suggest he is pretty calm about the whole situation.
