The £50M Chelsea And Bayern Munich Swap Deal That Would Make Sense For Both Clubs

Chelsea are reportedly interested in Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel, whereas Bayern are keen on one of Chelsea’s attackers.

The Blues currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, 10 points away from league leaders Liverpool.

They are winless in their last five league matches, and will be desperate to turn their current poor period of form around. They drew 2-2 to Bournemouth in their most recent match.

Enzo Maresca will likely want to make some squad improvements during the January transfer window but may have to sell several players in accordance with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules.

Included in a report by LondonWorld, the Blues are keen on Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel, who has been struggling for game time in recent weeks at the Allianz Arena under Vincent Kompany.

Tel, 19, has made just seven Bundesliga appearances this season, mainly due to the fact that he is having to play as Harry Kane’s backup for the German club.

Chelsea have reportedly held talks with the 19-year-old over a possible move amid his current contract negotiations over a new deal with Bayern as they aim to sign a striker this month to take some of the pressure off Nicolas Jackson.

Chelsea could offer Bayern Munich swap deal for £50m striker

In what appears to be a very hand coincidence, Bayern Munich are reportedly keen to sign Chelsea striker Christopher Nkunku, who has also struggled to get regular league minutes this season.

The Blues signed Nkunku from RB Leipzig in 2023 for around £50m, he has expressed his discomfort at Stamford Bridge however as he remains in Maresca’s ‘second team’.

Nkunku has been featuring heavily in cup competitions and the Europa Conference League for the Blues rather than the Premier League. His impressive goal scoring form hasn’t been affected however, as he has netted 13 goals in 28 games this season.

Seeing as Bayern are keen on the Frenchman, a swap deal could be agreed between the two clubs, which would mean Nkunku going to Germany, and Tel joining Chelsea.

Due to the higher valuation of Nkunku, Bayern would likely have to add a solid amount of cash to the deal to make it an even trade, however, it would suit both teams who are targeting each others strikers.
