Chelsea And Arsenal Receive Boost In Race For PSG Linked Goalscorer

Chelsea and Arsenal are still monitoring the situation of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as Paris Saint-Germain is struggling to strike a deal for him.

PSG has seemingly been the most likely destination for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer despite the vast amount of interest in his signature.

However, the French club refuses to meet Osimhen’s release clause according to journalist Fabrizio Romano on X. A swap deal is also on the cards, however, the two teams cannot agree to the other player(s) involved causing a stalemate.

This news comes as a boost to both Chelsea and Arsenal – both already linked heavily with Viktor Gyokeres – who are keen on signing Osimhen. Neither club is yet to make a concrete offer for the Nigerian, however, Chelsea could include Lukaku in a swap deal as Napoli is keen on signing the Belgian.

Chelsea had taken a back seat on the Osimhen move, however, with progress looking slow with PSG, the Blues could easily swoop in and try to land the striker with a £110m release clause or sign
a number of other options.

Chelsea keen on adding a striker

Chelsea have been linked to several top goalscorers this summer including Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa, who was rumoured to be on the move with Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher going the other way.

Furthermore, the Blues have also been linked with Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke, but face competition from London rivals Tottenham Hotspur who are in pole position to sign the 26-year-old.

Other names that have been linked include RB Leipzig’s Danny Olmo and Brentford’s Ivan Toney.

Victor Osimhen is in demand

Osimhen has been linked with a move away from Napoli for over a year now with the list of interested clubs just getting bigger and bigger. Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and PSG showing significant interest in the striker.

The 25-year-old scored 41 goals in his last two seasons and has a scoring record of at least one goal every other game in his career.

The Nigerian international looks to be moving this summer, but it has become even more unclear where he will end up.
