Matt Law Confirms Arsenal ARE Weighing Up Shock Move For £70M Rated Chelsea Ace

Arsenal are “monitoring” Chelsea forward Kai Havertz, according to the Daily Telegraph reporter Matt Law.

The reliable journalist claims the Gunners are considering whether to make a move for the German international, along with Real Madrid and a number of other teams:

As Law mentions, the Blues are currently holding out for around £70m to sell Havertz but the figure is putting off potential suitors.

While the club are keen to get the most they can for the 23-year-old (as they try to balance the books due to Financial Fair Play), they don’t want him to run down his contract either, and there is a feeling that Chelsea will have to reduce their demands if they are going to offload him this summer.

The player is open to a departure

Chelsea won’t force Havertz’s departure from Stamford Bridge but they are very aware that the player would be willing to move teams if the opportunity arose.

Whether the former Bayer Leverkusen star would be interested in joining Arsenal, though, it is not known at this stage. He would clearly be keen on moving to Real Madrid but the La Liga side are seemingly very reluctant to do a deal with the Blues at a price the London club would deem acceptable.

Havertz’s three seasons at Chelsea

A lot was expected of the German when he first arrived in 2020. The club spent a club record £72m to secure his signature and, while there have been some great moments, most notably his winning goal in the 2021 Champions League final, he has often flattered to deceive.

Havertz has scored 32 goals and provided 15 assists in 139 appearances for the Blues which is a rather disappointing return for a player who possesses so much talent.
