Chelsea Plot Move For Premier League Star Who Is A Self-Described “Arsenal Fan”

Chelsea are interested in signing Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo, according to reports.

Writing on his Substack, journalist Simon Phillips revealed that the 25-year-old is the third Cherries player the club are tracking ahead of the summer transfer window, along with Dean Huijsen and Ilya Zabarnyi.

Semenyo has caught the eye with his performances since moving to the Vitality Stadium from Bristol City midway through the 2022/23 season.

Over the past two years, the Ghanaian international has racked up 18 goals in 78 appearances for the Cherries, including 9 in all competitions this campaign.

Semenyo is an Arsenal supporter

Speaking in an interview with The Athletic back in October last year, the forward admitted that he grew up supporting one of Chelsea’s London rivals:

“I am an Arsenal fan. I don’t conflict the two with my job. It is great to play against Arsenal, a team I have watched all my life, and I want to play for the top clubs as well. In order for that to happen, I need to prove it.”

Semenyo emphasised that his main ambition is play for a club playing in the Champions League or Europa League, so he is unlikely to reject Chelsea if the Blues come calling.

Chelsea are targeting a replacement for Mudryk

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Enzo Maresca’s side have made the left flank a priority area to strengthen at the end of the season. With Mykhailo Mudryk serving a preliminary ban for a failed drugs test, it is a position that needs to be reinforced.

The likes of Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens and Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho have been mentioned as other potential targets, but it appears that a bid for Semenyo is also under serious consideration.
