Chelsea have been scouting Las Palmas goalkeeper Alvaro Valles, according to The Mirror.
The Blues are keen to sign a no.1 who is a “sweeper keeper”, with playing out from the back being key to Enzo Maresca’s style of play. It is believed that the club’s recruitment department have identified Valles as a potential option and supporters on X are split on whether he would be a good addition to the squad:

What do Chelsea fans need to know about Valles?
The Spaniard came through Real Betis’s youth academy before switching to Las Palmas in 2018. He made his first-team debut against Deportivo La Coruna in October 2019 and he quickly became a regular starter.
Over the past four and a half years, Valles has racked up 138 appearances for his current club, but he has really caught the eye this season, not only for his kicking, but also his shot-stopping. He prevented 7.7 more goals than his post-shot xG this season; an extremely impressive record.
With his contract set to expire next year, Las Palmas are expected to listen to offers for him this summer but that means there will be other suitors too. The Mirror say that Arsenal, Wolves and his former team Betis are keeping tabs on his situation.
Are Chelsea pursuing other keepers?
Valles is by no means the only shot-stopper that the Blues are looking at. Last week, it was reported that scouts have been watching Villarreal’s Filip Jorgensen.
It has also been claimed that Burnley’s James Trafford is on the list of possible targets to reinforce Maresca’s options in goal.
