Chelsea have not made a move for Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
Writing on his X account, the talkSPORT and GiveMeSport reporter said that rumours linking the Italian international with a €50m (£43m) transfer to Stamford Bridge were “wide of the mark”. Supporters on X knew that the reports of the club’s interest in Bastoni were too good to be true:

Maresca has called on the club to sign a centre-half
Following the news that Levi Colwill will likely miss the rest of the season with an ACL injury, the Blues boss made comments that were directed squarely at the club’s recruitment team.
Maresca is very keen for a replacement to be brought in, but it seems he has been told to make do with what he has got.
Acheampong caught the eye in Chelsea’s opening day fixture
Although the London club did not get off to a winning start against Crystal Palace at the weekend, they did keep a clean sheet despite the absence of Colwill and Tosin Adarabioyo.
Josh Achempong received a lot of praise after starting alongside Trevoh Chalobah in the centre of defence. The 19-year-old is clearly aiming to make a case for himself starting on a regular basis over the coming weeks and months.
