Chelsea are “now deciding internally whether to bid” for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Napoli have tabled a formal offer worth €50m (£42m), including add-ons but the Red Devils are demanding a much higher fee. Reports suggest that Ruben Amorim’s side will hold out for around €70m (£59m) but Blues supporters on X don’t believe that Garnacho is worth that much:
Wouldn’t even pay 70 euros

If they give us a deal like that of Sancho I will happily take him but €70m no chance.

He is good but we already have enough wingers . Get a serious goalkeeper in that money

Why do Chelsea want Garnacho?
Head coach Enzo Maresca doesn’t have a lot of options on the left flank due to Mykhailo Mudryk’s provisional drugs ban.
Jadon Sancho is the only other alternative in that position. Pedro Neto was handed a start against Wolves but the Portuguese international is better deployed on the right wing.
With the club also said to be considering offers for Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix, there is scope for adding another forward to the first-team squad.
Why are United looking to sell?
Until recently, Garnacho was regarded as one of the club’s prize assets but the Red Devils need to raise funds in order to strengthen the squad.
Furthermore, he is not the perfect fit for Amorim’s 3-4-3 system, having spent a fair amount of time on the bench since the Portuguese’s appointment back in November.
