GK – Giorgi Mamardashvili
There is no guarantee that Chelsea will sign a new keeper this summer. Reports suggest that Maresca is happy to start Robert Sanchez in goal, despite reservations about his ability.
That stance could change, though, especially with Mamardashvili’s availability. The Blues have been linked with the Georgian on and off over the past few months, and his performances for Georgia at the Euros suggest he would be well worth the £30m needed to buy him.
RB – Reece James
The captain has started pre-season and it will be hoped that he has gotten over the injury problems that have plagued him over the last two to three seasons.
Malo Gusto showed with his form during his first year at the club that he will push James for his spot in the team.
