Chelsea are interested in Lazio striker Ciro Immobile, according to reports in Italy.

It does seem unlikely that the Blues would sign another forward this month if they do, as expected, secure a deal to sign Gonzalo Higuain on loan but it appears Immobile is being targeted.

Maurizio Sarri’s side are not the only team keeping tabs on Immobile, however, with Liverpool believed to be sending scouts to see the Italian international in action.

Representatives from the Merseyside club will reportedly be in the stands when Lazio face Napoli at the San Paolo on Sunday.

Immobile’s track record in Italy is excellent. He has scored 94 goals in 171 appearances in Serie A, and in the last two and half seasons alone, he has scored 80 in all competitions for Lazio.

He has never really convinced whilst playing outside Italy, though. The 28-year-old failed to impress after a big money move to Borussia Dortmund and struggled on loan spell at Sevilla.
