Chelsea Tracking Second Napoli Forward Who Could Be Sold For £35m

Chelsea are in contention to sign Napoli forward Arkadiusz Milik, according to reports in the Italian media. The Polish international has just one year remaining on his contract at the Serie A club and it is believed he will turn down an extension to his current deal.

If that happens, he will very likely be available for transfer this summer with Napoli unwilling to let him go for nothing next year. The Partenopei are said to be looking for a fee between €40m (£35m) and €50m (£44m) for the 26-year-old.

Milik’s asking price does appear to be quite steep due to his contract situation, but Chelsea may face competition from Juventus and Tottenham which may force the fee up.

The Blues have been pursuing another Napoli striker, Dries Mertens, but reports suggest that Frank Lampard’s side may lose out to Inter Milan for the Belgian international, who is available on a free transfer this summer.
