Chelsea Tracking In Form Bournemouth Marksman With January Offer Being Considered

Chelsea are tracking Bournemouth forward Callum Wilson, according to reports in the English media.

The 26-year-old has been in good form so far this season, scoring seven goals and providing five assists in 13 appearances.

The Blues are said to be planning to scout Wilson for the rest of the calendar year to see if he continues his rich vein of form, with Maurizio Sarri keen on the club recruiting another forward in January.

Olivier Giroud has yet to score in 11 appearances this campaign, while the jury is still very much out on current first choice Alvaro Morata.

The Spaniard has scored five goals in his last six games, but Sarri commented on the striker’s mental fragility despite praising his technical ability after the 3-1 win over Crystal Palace last weekend.

Whether Wilson is of the required calibre, it remains to be seen. The forward has never scored more than nine goals in a Premier League season, although that is partly down to the number of serious injuries he has sustained.

However, he is certainly on course to have his most prolific season in the top flight to date.
