Chelsea Told They Will Have To Pay 70M If They Want To Land Kante Replacement

Brighton are expected to hold out for a fee of £60m to £70m if Chelsea make an approach for Moises Caicedo, according to reports in the English media.

The Ecuadorian international is believed to be a target for the Blues as they weigh up replacements for N’Golo Kante.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has said there is now a high probability that Kante will leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season when his contract expires.

Talks between the player and the club are believed to have stalled, with it being claimed that the Frenchman is looking to be offered a longer team deal.

Caicedo is seemingly one of the options that Chelsea are considering as they seek to cope with the loss of Kante. The 21-year-old certainly has the athleticism and technical ability to be a suitable successor but there will be competition for his signature.

Manchester United and Newcastle are said to be the Blues’ main rivals for the midfielder, so we shall see who makes the first move.
