Chelsea To Use Asmir Begovic For The Next Two Months

Most recent updates revealed that Thibaut Courtois could be coming back as late as early December which is a massive blow for Chelsea. Deemed as one of the best keepers in the world, the Belgium international appears to have suffered more serious damage to his knee than previously estimated. According to the Daily Mail, the 23-year-old could spend the next 2 months undergoing treatment and recovering from what is believed to be a deterioration in his cruciate-ligament picked up during training.

As some may know knee problems are probably among the most common career changing injuries. Valdes went through a similar thing and had to miss out on almost a season’s worth of games. Hopefully that will not be the case for Courtois as no rupture has yet to be detected. The meniscus is also in good shape so maybe he will avoid serious surgery. Nonetheless, it was not a great time for Chelsea to lose their number one man. With very poor results so far and matches against Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham coming up, the Blues could struggle to hold on to last year’s title at this rate. Fortunately, they ended up in a rather accessible Champions League group out of which they should not have any actual trouble advancing to the knock-out stages.
