Chelsea To Target Dortmund Striker Pierre Aubameyang

With Samuel Eto’o leaving Chelsea and with Demba Ba and Torres looking like last resorts in front of goal, Chelsea will be searching for some new, efficient strikers to bring in as competition for Diego Costa who is days away from signing with the Blues. According to Metro, 25 year old forward, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has become a front runner for a spot in Mourinho’s team. The striker who is valued at £7 million, has a great scoring rate and may represent the perfect alternative for Chelsea who were criticized for their lack of efficiency in front of goal.

Aubameyang will be preferred to Lukaku who seems far away from becoming a team regular. His poor relationship with the club has made it nearly impossible for him to become part of Mourinho’s team even though he did turn in an excellent perfomance for Belgium in their win over USA where he scored the winner after coming on as substitute.

With Chelsea looking set for yet another spending spree, there is no telling who will end up on Stamford Bridge. Balotelli is also a possible target, with the 23 year old Italian expressing his desire to return to the Premier League.

One other player who is often linked to Chelsea is Benfica’s Lazar Markovic. The 20 year old winger is one of the most promising players in European football and has been monitored by the Blues even since he was playing for Partizan. Even so, the Serbian is last on the list considering he just signed with Benfica in 2013 and that Chelsea have a lot of players capable of performing in his position.
