The young Frenchman, Raphael Varane is considered one of the most promising defenders in the world. Discovered and promoted by Mourinho, Real Madrid’s central defender looks like the best choice to pair up with Zouma who is already showing his qualities even though he just came to Stamford Bridge. According to Metro, Chelsea are determined on bringing in a new, powerful and quick centre back to replace Terry and partner Cahill in the near future. Roman Abramovich is directly involved in this deal as he promised Mourinho he will have the chance to sign the Frenchman.

The relationship between Mourinho and Abramovich seems to be going great especially after the Russian club owner saw how great Chelsea’s latest transfers are doing. Fabregas and Costa have upped the ante since moving to Stamford Bridge. That allows Mourinho to request any player regardless of his name, price or age. Real Madrid also look to finally be ready to sell the player who is not one of Ancelotti’s favorites.
