Chelsea To Receive Massive Bid For Andre Schurrle

The Blues are getting ready to clean their squad up a little and make room for some new players. Even though Andre Schurrle is an amazing player, he does not seem to be part of Mourinho’s plans for the future. The German has been repeatedly linked to a transfer despite managing some impressive performances for Chelsea. According to the Evening Standard, it seems that the reason for his departure is the fact that Marco Reus is planning on signing a deal that will bring him to Stamford Bridge for the next few years.

Apparently Schurrle’s physical state is also an issue. He seems a bit overwhelmed by the Premier League despite his excellent abilities. The winger insisted he will push through the difficult moments and that he will play for Chelsea for as long as he is wanted here. Returning to Germany might be tempting as well though with Wolfsburg lining up an unexpected offer for the German international. Apparently, they are ready to spend as much as £23.5million on Schurrle which is as much as the Blues paid for him back in 2013.

Schurrle still has three years left on his current contract but will not bring any profit to Chelsea though considering he would be sold for the same price if the reported deal with Wolfsburg is to be completed. The problem is that his salary will probably be lower in Germany than what he has now plus he will not be competing at the same level for Wolfsburg as he is in the Premier League. These things could make him refuse to leave Stamford Bridge thereby scuppering Jose Mourinho’s attempt to open up a squad position for an incoming player.
