Chelsea could lose a player who was once seen as the next John Terry. Brazilian defender, David Luiz has had a season full of ups and downs when it comes to his performances. The Brazilian who moved to London in 2011 has seemingly lost his consistency since Mourinho took over the Blues. The 26 year old who according to Metro has been on Barcelona’s wish-list for a while now could become the subject of a £30million deal.

It is hard to believe though, Chelsea will let Luiz go this January. Important moves like these usually take place during the summer. At most, the two sides will begin negotiations over the Brazilian who could become part of a more complex affair involving Wayne Rooney who has always been one of Mourinho’s favorite players.

If the Blues do decide to go after the English international once again during the summer, some serious cash may be needed on Stamford Bridge. Luiz could be the one providing Chelsea with the necessary cash to make a move on Manchester United’s player.

Until then it looks like things have settled down a bit for Luiz, who has no longer been a substitute over the last few weeks. Hopefully for Chelsea, the Brazilian will continue his excellent performances and help the Blues win trophies this season.
