Chelsea To Give Brazilian Loan Opportunity

Chelsea will give their young Brazilian winger Lucas Piazon an opportunity to go out on loan and gain some first team experience, while it gets tougher each season to break into the first team, which is now over-flowing with world class players.

Jose Mourinho has been using his man-management skills to get to know each player at the club, as the former Real Madrid manager settles into his second stint at Stamford Bridge. Multiple positions have areas of concern where players have yet to find their best form, and others where youngsters are waiting for an opportunity to break through into the senior squad. Chelsea’s youth academy has been producing excellent players, but there is a recent surge of Brazilian talent that has taken the club by storm, with players like David Luiz and Ramires who have stamped their authority on the first team. Both players have settled into life in London, and have not shied away from the physical nature of the Barclays Premier League.

Another such player is Piazon, who was bought by Chelsea two seasons ago from his native side Sao Paulo. The winger’s development over these past two seasons has been impressive, and Piazon has been knocking the first team door ever since. With Mourinho’s return to the club, every player will have a chance to showcase his talent, including Piazon, but it will be difficult to replace a senior squad member without first team experience under his belt. Chelsea have sent various budding youngsters on loan over the past few seasons, including the likes of Josh McEcharan and Romelu Lukaku, with the latter scoring 17 Premier League goals last season for West Bromwich Albion.

According to Daily Mail, Piazon admitted to having made contact with players like Lukaku, and has been happy with what they have to say about experiences on loan. However, the winger conceded that his priority would be to stay in England to get used to the conditions, and return to Chelsea challenging for a first team place just like Lukaku.

Piazon said, “I’ve spoken a lot to Romelu and Kevin. Both of them had great seasons and it was good to speak to them to see how they felt and how they found it and how they coped mentally with this.”

“They told me I had to just go and play, think only about playing. That was the most important thing for them.”

Let’s hope Piazon goes out on loan and has the same experience as Lukaku and De Bruyne, and comes back to Chelsea a more mature and stronger player who is ready to fight for his place in the first team.
