Chelsea To Bring In Cuadrado For Schurrle

Chelsea are preparing to bring Juan Cuadrado into the squad after the player is seen as the perfect replacement for departing Andre Schurrle, who has discussed personal terms with Wolfsburg when the officials came to London over a permanent move in the next few days, according to Metro.

The Blues will have a big boost of confidence after a perfect end to a difficult week in the season. Having played Liverpool in the first leg last week and tied they managed to pull off the extra time win this week thanks to Ivanovic’s extra time winner and book their place at Wembley vs Spurs. Chelsea managed to stay at the top of the League after their 1-1 tie at the Bridge this weekend as they faced Manchester City in an all important tie in the race to the Barclays Premier League, keeping the Blues 5 points ahead of their rivals.

Schurrle started his life in football with Mainz in Germany as a youth player in 2006 and three years later signed a professional contract with the senior side. After 66 appearances and 20 goals for the club, the 24-year old was signed by Bayer Leverkusen. Schurrle can also operate as an attacking winger, and he discovered this skill at Leverkusen. Then came the move to Chelsea, but the player has not had many first team starts, prompting a move. His replacement, Cuadrado, could give the extra boost Chelsea need to win the title.
