Chelsea to battle United and Tottenham for signature of PSG superstar

Chelsea are ready to battle it out with both Manchester United and Tottenham for the signature of PSG defender Layvin Kurzawa, according to reports.

Antonio Conte is keen to land the France international after having missed out Juventus’ Alex Sandro last summer.

The 25-year-old has caught the eye of Conte with his impressive performances for the Ligue 1 Champions this season.

However such plans could be scuppered by the Italian’s future at Stamford Bridge.

Conte is widely expected to leave the club at the end of the season after a well-documented fall-out with the club’s hierarchy and their failure to mount a challenge for the Premier League title.

And should Conte leave London for pastures new, it could open the door for both United and Tottenham to steal the defender from under the Blues’ nose.

United are understood to see Kurzawa as a long-term solution to a problem position at left-back.

Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind – all of whom can play at left-back – are expected to leave the club in the summer, whilst the club’s current first choice Ashley Young has only one year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford.

Tottenham are also monitoring the defender’s situation, and could move for him should Danny Rose leave the club during the summer.

Kurzawa has played 28 games for club and country this season and is expected to be named in Didier Deschamps’ France squad for the World Cup this summer.
