Chelsea to battle La Liga duo for £70 million rated France international

Chelsea are set to battle it out with both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid for the signature of Thomas Lemar, according to reports.

Spanish outlet Sport claim the Blues are eyeing the AS Monaco winger as they look to rebuild their squad after a disappointing season at Stamford Bridge.

Lemar is also seen as a potential replacement for Brazil international Willian, who is been heavily rumoured to be on his way out of the club this summer after falling out of favour with manager Antonio Conte.

Chelsea however will face stiff competition for the 22-year-old, with both Barca and Atletico keen to land the highly rated Frenchman ahead of the new season.

Sport indicate Barcelona have been in touch with Monaco already regarding a potential deal for Lemar, who’s keen on a move away from the Stade Louis II after two successful seasons.

Monaco are reportedly willing to part ways with Lemar, however the France international will cost any interested parties between £60-£80 million.

Arsenal had previously tried to land Lemar on deadline day of last summer, but saw a proposed £92 million move fall through due to paperwork being unable to completed on time.

The Gunners are not expected to go in for Lemar again this summer.
