Chelsea targets nets sensational quadruple in La Liga

Chelsea target Antoine Griezmann continued his fine form by netting a sensational quadruple against Leganes in La Liga last night.

The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move to the Blues over the past year, with Antonio Conte understood to be extremely keen on bringing Griezmann to Stamford Bridge to bolster his attacking options.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Real Madrid are all also eyeing a move for the Atleti’ striker in the summer – and it is no wonder why given his form this season.

Griezmann’s four goals last night meant he recorded hat-tricks in successive games for Diego Simeone’s side having scored three against Sevilla only last week, taking his total to 20 for the season.

Griezmann opened the scoring at the Wanda Metropolitano after 25 minutes, latching on to Koke’s fine through pass to slot the ball under the Leganes keeper.

The France international doubled his side’s lead ten minutes later when he found the top corner from a free-kick on the edge of the box.

And his hat-trick was completed just after half-time, heading home superbly from an equally brilliant cross from former Chelsea star Filipe Luis.

Another former Blue, Diego Costa, helped Griezmann to his fourth on 65 minutes, teeing the Frenchman up nicely to volley home from inside the Leganes box.

Not quite the ‘perfect hat-trick’, but definitely a ‘terrific tetrad’ – a ball through, a free-kick, an header and a volley.
