Chelsea target spotted in Blues shirt ahead of rumoured Stamford Bridge switch

Bayer Leverkusen star Leon Bailey has been ‘pictured in a “Chelsea shirt”, ramping up speculation that he is set for a January move to Stamford Bridge.

Antonio Conte is looking to bolster his attacking options going into the second half of the season having seen his side on a barren run of consecutive goal-less draws lately as club record signing Alvaro Morata (who played under Conte in his time at Juventus) has been struggling going six games without a goal and only managing three goals in his past fifteen appearances in all competitions.

The frustrated forward lost control last night as he received a red card in the FA Cup vs Norwich City following him first getting a yellow card for diving and then getting a second yellow card for dissent as he aggressively argued with the referee over the first yellow card.

As a result Morata will serve a one game ban this weekend so he along with his country man Pedro who was also sent off against Norwich will both be unavailable for the trip to the Amex Stadium to play Brighton in the Premier League.

The Blues other main striker, Belgian international Michy Batshuayi has not been in great form either as he too had only managed to score three goals for Chelsea in the first team before he notched Chelsea’s only goal in their FA Cup third round replay against Norwich City which of course ended up in a 5-3 penalty shoot-out win for the Blues.

Chelsea will face old manager Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle side in the 4th round and if you want to bet on that game or any other fixture, you can take advantage of the SportPesa Bonus Code as the Blues will be looking for a much improved team performance when they take on the geordie side at Stamford Bridge at the end of the month.

As a result of the poor form from both strikers Antonio Conte is understood to be keen on adding Leon Bailey to his team.

The Jamaica born star has had a fantastic first half of the season – scoring eight goals and registering four assists – attracting attention from club’s across Europe, including Chelsea.

Manchester United and Arsenal are also thought to be also be interested, however the latest revelation suggests Bailey is Stamford Bridge bound.

An old tweet from Bailey has resurfaced on social media picturing Bailey in a Chelsea shirt, leading to speculation he will favour a move to South West London rather than any of his other potential suitors.

Bailey has previously stated his desire to play in England too, saying: “Of course I have a dream club, but I will not tell.

“Basically, England was and still is my dream. And if I keep working hard, I’m sure it will work someday. The change to Bayer was just the right step for my development.”

Bailey’s contract at Bayer Leverkusen expires in 2022.
