Chelsea target refuses to rule out Juventus exit

Chelsea are rumoured to be chasing Juventus star Miralem Pjanic this summer as a possible replacement for N’Golo Kante if the Frenchman leaves.

There have been several rumours about the future of Kante this summer, with the central midfielder a key target of both PSG and Barcelona. Chelsea will be reluctant to allow their star man to leave, but if the 27-year-old pushes for the exit door they could be forced into doing so.

It is believed that Barcelona have cooled their interest in the Frenchman at present, but PSG are said to be interested in tabling a bid before the window closes.

Kante would be a huge loss for the Blues and will take some replacing, but Juventus midfielder Pjanic has refused to rule out a move away from the Allianz Stadium this summer, telling the media during an even held in Manhattan: “I have nothing to say, there are many reports and rumours and the only thing that I want to do is train in the best way I can. The rest doesn’t depend on me.”

Chelsea have had an extremely quiet transfer window so far, only signing £57m Jorginho from Napoli as the window closure looms.

It is unsure whether Kante, who joined from Leicester for £30m back in 2016, has his eye on leaving Stamford Bridge. But with no Champions League football next season, it is possible that he could be swayed.
