Blues boss Jose Mourinho has already acquired two world class players in the form of Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas as he seeks to win the Premier League trophy next season. The London club are continuing to try bringing Juventus’ star midfielder Paul Pogba to Stamford Bridge.

However, a deal for Pogba looks unlikely and Mourinho is targeting a move for Adrien Rabiot as his replacement, according to the Express. The report states that Mourinho is targeting a £7 million move for Rabiot as he looks to improve the quality of young players coming through the ranks at the Bridge.

The France U-21 international just has a year remaining on his current deal but has reportedly rejected the chance to extend his stay at the Parc des Princes with Yohan Cabaye, Blaise Matuidi, Marco Verratti and Thiago Motta ahead of him in the pecking order.

PSG do not want to lose him for free next season and could consider selling the talented midfielder with Chelsea waiting in the wings with a £7 million offer but Mourinho is a huge fan of Pogba who is really the manager’s first choice not to mention he has still has hopes of luring Toni Kroos to West London so signing Rabiot does seem like a long shot.
