Chelsea Target Move For Juventus Midfield Maestro After Difficult First Season In Italy

Chelsea are interested in signing Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to Tuttosport (via Calciomercato.com)

The Italian newspaper reports that the Frenchman is in the London club’s sights, with the 25-year-old potentially available when the transfer window reopens.

Rabiot only joined Juve on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, but he has struggled to make an impact since his arrival in Italy.

The midfielder has started just 11 league games under manager Maurizio Sarri this campaign, although it must be said he did get a run of starts in the first team before the enforced break in football fixtures.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard may well be looking for another player who can play in the holding midfield role. Jorginho has been heavily linked with a return to Serie A while N’Golo Kante has had numerous injury issues this season.

Billy Gilmour has certainly impressed hugely when called upon but the Blues may see Rabiot as a potential option to add depth in the position.
