Chelsea Target Mauro Icardi Pursued By Juventus Before Next Transfer Period

Italian champions Juventus look keen on bringing in Serie A rising star, Mauro Icardi. The Argentinian striker who has impressed this season, has proven to be one of the most lethal attackers in Europe. According to the Daily Express, Mourinho who was hot on the youngster’s trail, could have to redirect his attention elsewhere. Apparently Italy is more tempting for Icardi who is rumored to move to Torino at the beginning of next season.

The Argentinian striker was supposed to replace Drogba who will be parting ways with Chelsea at the end of the summer. Some said that Icardi could even come in as a second option and downgrade Remy from his position as the second in line to replace Costa.

Chelsea are not the only ones interested in signing Icardi. Manchester United are also interested in the Argentinian who looked like an excellent solution to have around given the fact that Falcao is seriously considering leaving.

Valued at about £16million, the attacker is clearly out of tune with Inter who are struggling to get a late chance of competing in the Europa League next season. Icardi is by far the stand-out player of the lot and will be receiving many offers this summer. Hopefully Chelsea will manage to work their magic and convince the Argentinian to come to Stamford Bridge. Former Barcelona youngster would make a great addition to the squad and will probably successfully replace Drogba who is set to get an offer to become part of Chelsea’s managerial staff.
