Chelsea are keeping tabs on Villarreal left-back Alfonso Pedraza, according to CaughtOffside.com.

The 25-year-old has been in decent form for the Yellow Submarine this season, having scored one goal and provided four assists in 27 league appearances.

Pedraza reportedly has a €35m (£30.5m) release clause which makes him an attractive target, and the fact that he can also play as a left-winger, means he would perfectly suit a wingback role in Thomas Tuchel’s 3-4-3 system.

The Blues currently have three left-backs on their books, including Ben Chilwell, Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri, but the latter two are expected to be sold at the end of the season.

Pedraza isn’t the only wingback being looked at, with CaughtOffside claiming that the London club may also reignite their interest in Atalanta’s Robin Gosens.

However, out of the two, Pedraza would likely be the cheaper option and he could be secured without any negotiations if Chelsea pay the buyout fee.
