Chelsea Summer Transfer Target Revealed As Having £35m Release Clause

Porto left-back Alex Telles has a €40m (£35m) release clause in his contract, according to reports in Portugal.

Chelsea are reportedly lining up a move for the Brazilian as part of a £200m splurge before their appeal is heard over their transfer ban.

Telles is said to be a target if Zinedine Zidane replaces current manager Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge.

With the Kepa incident casting a long shadow over the Italian’s future at the Blues, bookies have made Zidane favourite to take over if Sarri is sacked.

Telles has been in superb form for Porto this season, having already made nine assists in 38 appearances.

If Chelsea were to make a bid for the 26-year-old, it’s likely that either Marcos Alonso or Emerson Palmieri would have to depart the club.

The latter started the Carabao Cup final yesterday with Alonso not even in the squad following a number of poor performances in recent months.
