Chelsea Still Having Problems Scoring

According to Metro, Mourinho cannot stop dropping hints regarding the fact that his strikers need to be more efficient in front of goal. Despite Torres’s opener against Turkish side, Galatasaray the Portuguese manager still remained unsatisfied with how the attacking part (read strikers!) of his team performed. At the post-match press conference, the Special One pointed out that the game should have ended differently if not for all those chances going to waste because of his team’s lack of clinical finishing.

With Hazard being the Blues’ top scorer this season and with all three strikers having scored only two goals more than the Belgian, it is hard not to get frustrated as a manager. Add to that the fact that Premier League adversaries feature strikers like Suarez, Sturridge and Aguero who cannot stop scoring and you can only imagine how tough it must be not to address this issue on a regular basis, just as Mourinho has done over the past few weeks. It would be interesting to hear what Mourinho thinks about Sturridge and if the Portuguese manager wishes the England striker was still a Chelsea player and had not been discarded.

Chelsea’s boss has pointed out that not having someone to finish the job is also taking a toll on some of the other players who have to work twice as hard to maintain a 1 goal advantage or to come back from conceding a goal. With so many important games coming up before the end of the season, Mourinho has to work his magic in order to lead the Stamford Bridge side to glory while still keeping them safe from injury so they can make the World Cup.
