Chelsea Step Up Pursuit For Kepa’s Replacement As They Line Up ‘Real Offer’ For £25m Rated Shot Stopper

Chelsea have stepped up their interest in Udinese goalkeeper Juan Musso, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport. The Italian newspaper says the Serie A side are expecting a “real offer” from the Blues in the “coming weeks” for the Argentinian international.

The 25-year-old was first linked with a move to Stamford Bridge at the beginning of February, with reports in Italy suggesting that scouts from the London club had been watching the keeper for a while.

However, following manager Frank Lampard’s decision to drop Kepa Arrizabalaga, attempts to sign a new number one have been ramped up.

Ajax’s Andre Onana, Lille’s Mike Maignan, Burnley’s Nick Pope and Manchester United’s Dean Henderson have also been mentioned as possible targets but Musso’s name hasn’t been as widely circulated.

Chelsea have already made an early summer move for Hakim Ziyech and it will be interesting to see if they take a similar approach in their search for a new goalkeeper. Gazzetta report that Udinese would not accept anything less than €30m (£25m) for Musso.
