Chelsea will probably win the race for World Cup winner Sami Khedira who is close to reaching a deal with the Blues. During the summer, the 27 year old was intensely linked to Arsenal who could not agree with the player when it came to his salary. Rumors had it that Mourinho interfered and actually told the German that he should wait until his contract with Real expires and then come to London for free. According to Metro, those rumors could have been right as the midfielder is now close to being reunited with his former manager.

Khedira’s deal with Real Madrid is going to end during the summer. The Spanish side are desperate to sell him in order to recover some of the money they spent on him. They could have made a profit a while back if not for the German international’s high financial demands.

The only thing that might stop Khedira from joining Chelsea is the fact that Arsenal can more than likely promise him a spot in the first team. The Blues on the other hand, cannot make such a promise considering the fact that they currently have three players who perform in the same spot as Khedira. With Matic in great form, it is going to be hard for Khedira to become a team regular. This might be a problem as the 27 year old German is currently looking to leave Real due to the fact that he is not part of the starting eleven more often.
