Chelsea are scouting for a new striker as Drogba is possibly ready to leave London for the second time. Despite repeatedly declaring that he would love to play for the Blues for one more year, the Ivorian is not yet ready to retire which means he may need to find a different team. Remy and Costa are already doing an amazing job but could sure use some top end competition. According to Metro, that competition will come from Italy where scouts were recently sent to check out rising star Mauro Icardi.

The 21 year old is one of the most appreciated strikers in Europe and has had an amazing season scoring 13 goals in 22 matches which is very impressive for Serie A. The Argentinian international could be the last piece of the puzzle for Chelsea who have an amazing squad already. One can only imagine how great it would be to be a manager and have to choose from Costa, Remy and Icardi when it comes to scoring options.

Signals from Italy seem to be positive as Inter are not ready and probably able to live up to Icardi’s financial expectations. The 21 year old wants to triple his salary which looks too much for the Italians. Chelsea on the other side have the resources to give the striker the requested sum and more. Hopefully the Blues will add to a world class attack that will top this year’s performance. Mourinho’s side are already leading in the standings with almost 60 goals scored and counting.
