The agent of Chelsea fullback Emerson Palmieri has revealed that Inter Milan remain interested in signing the Italian international.
The Nerazzurri are closing in on snapping up another left-back, Aleksandar Kolarov from Roma, but Fernando Garcia believes that Antonio Conte’s side are still in the hunt to sign Emerson this summer:
“Possibility that he will leave Chelsea? Yes, there is this possibility. I have not yet spoken with the London club. I can only say that there is Inter interest in the player. We will see…”
Chelsea would no doubt be open to letting Emerson leave if Inter make a good enough offer. The Blues are reportedly holding out for €25m (£22m), which has put off clubs from making a formal bid until now.
Inter’s decision to sign Kolarov as well will probably make the Serie A side even less likely to match Emerson’s asking price so this transfer may not be finalised anytime soon.
Chelsea could do with the funds from Emerson’s sale as they look to make moves for West Ham’s Declan Rice and a new goalkeeper before the transfer window closes in October.
