Chelsea star wants team-mate to stay following exit rumours

Eden Hazard’s future at Stamford Bridge has been cast with doubt this summer after various comments made by the Belgian.

After Belgium’s World Cup exit, Hazard admitted it might be time to move on from Chelsea after 7 years at the club, giving off a sort of come get me plea to Real Madrid.

Madrid are now preparing for life without superstar Ronaldo, and need to find someone to fill the void as soon as possible. Who better than Eden Hazard to do just that, as the forward proved at the World Cup that he is capable of producing displays on the world stage – winning the Silver Ball at the end of the tournament.

However, team-mate Cesc Fabregas has admitted the Blues need to do all they can to ensure Hazard stays, saying the 27-year-old is the best player at the club.

When asked at a news conference whether he has spoken to Hazard, Fabregas said: “I won’t lie, I speak to him often.

“He is the best player at the club and we need at Chelsea to keep the best players. He knows the fans love him and he’s a player we love to play with. For sure, we want him to stay.”

It remains to be seen what the future has in store for both Hazard and Chelsea, but there is a glimmer of hope that the Belgian could stay following the release of Chelsea’s new away kit which features Hazard prominently in the marketing, perhaps a sign that he could be set to remain at the club.
