Chelsea Star May Reverse Decision To Leave In The January Transfer Window

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill is considering staying at the club for the rest of the season to help with the Blues’ title challenge, according to reports in England.

The 32-year-old said last month he would look to leave Stamford Bridge in the January transfer window if he wasn’t afforded more game time by manager Maurizio Sarri.

The Chelsea boss has favoured centre-back pairing David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger in the Premier League this season, leaving Cahill to play in cup competitions.

However, with the Blues looking to compete on four fronts, the former England international is likely to be given more opportunities to play over the coming months.

It is believed that Cahill could see out the remainder of his contract, which expires at the end of the season, and then re-assess his options in the summer.

The likes of Southampton, Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday have all been linked with a move to sign the centre-half in recent weeks.
